We had a good summer with a trip to San Antonio with Eric's mom, brother and his family. A trip to see family in California.  While in California, Ryan completed a scout patch by learning about the California Gold Rush of 1849 and doing a service project in a gold rush era town called Columbia.

Now summer is over and school has started.  Shortly after school started, Hurrican Ike came barreling into Houston. For those that don't live in Houston, I am sure that you heard about it. We were fortunate that we had no damage or fallen trees. Many other people did have damage though. There is a link to pictures on the Family Photos tab where you can see our street and the yard. In any case, we were without electricity for a little over two weeks. Everything is back to normal now with a new generator added to garage of stuff.
